The City of Beloit Fire Department, a department whose personnel are dedicated to the protection of life and property from fire, is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. The City of Beloit Fire Department provides emergency services to nearly 37,000 residents of the City of Beloit, as well as assists surrounding communities. In addition to providing fire suppression and emergency medical services, the Department also provides services for swift water rescues, tactical emergency medical services, technical rescue, fire investigation, and public education and fire prevention. By providing a myriad of services to the Greater Beloit area, City of Beloit Firefighter/Paramedics are able to respond to a wide variety of calls, creating an environment where employees can cross train and excel in fields of interest in fire and rescue services.
This position is responsible for the protection of life and property from fire, including combating, extinguishing and preventing fires, answering emergency medical calls, extricating and rescuing individuals from fires and entrapment, first aid and emergency medical services, and maintenance of all Fire Department facilities, specialized fire apparatus and equipment.
