Security Management Specialist (HashiCorp Vault / RHEL / Automation)

Location-Manassas,Virginia

We are seeking an experienced Security Management Specialist to secure and manage enterprise environments with a strong focus on HashiCorp Vault , automation , and Linux security hardening . The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of deploying, integrating, and automating security platforms in complex enterprise infrastructures.

This role involves close collaboration with infrastructure, security, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, and automated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain HashiCorp Vault Enterprise clusters in high-availability (HA) environments.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Vault performance and security.

• Implement Vault hardening best practices and integrate Vault with enterprise platforms and applications.

• Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules for secure infrastructure provisioning.

• Troubleshoot, monitor, and harden Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.

• Develop, implement, and enforce SELinux policies .

• Design and implement Ansible roles and playbooks , including usage of AWX/Ansible Tower .

• Manage and enhance automation workflows using Ansible.

• Onboard end users to security platforms and provide operational support.

• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response activities.

• Maintain strong documentation and follow enterprise security standards.

• Work onsite at least 2 days per week in a hybrid model.

Required Skills (Must-Have)

• HashiCorp Vault Enterprise Administration

  • HA deployments, troubleshooting, monitoring, hardening, and integrations (3+ years).

• Terraform

  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining reusable modules.

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  • System administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and security hardening (4+ years).

  • Experience with RHEL 9 preferred.

• Ansible

  • Development of roles and playbooks.

  • Experience with AWX or Ansible Tower .

• Security Automation & Operations

  • Ability to integrate automation into enterprise security workflows.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Go (Golang) development, especially for Vault plugin development .

• Jenkins

  • CI/CD pipeline development and automation.

• Splunk

  • Query creation, dashboards, and alerting.

• ELK Stack

  • Log integration, queries, dashboards, and alerting.

• SELinux

  • Policy development and troubleshooting.

Certifications (Nice to Have)

• HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate

• HashiCorp Vault Operations Professional

• Terraform Associate Certification

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in security management and automation.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault Enterprise .

• Proven experience securing and automating enterprise infrastructure environments.
