Summary:
- The position requires a professional to assist individuals in the Astoria, NY area with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- The role involves providing counseling services in a full-time capacity, Monday through Friday, from 10:00am to 06:00pm.
- The ideal candidate will utilize various counseling strategies and technologies to support client growth and development.
Requirements - Full CASAC certification
- Organizational and communication skills
- Critical thinking and sound judgment skills
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences with one year of experience in drug rehabilitation
- Associate's degree in behavioral or social sciences with two years of experience in substance abuse treatment
- High School Diploma with three years of paid experience in drug rehabilitation
Qualifications - Experience in facilitating individual and group sessions
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in developing and implementing recovery plans
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies
- Experience in maintaining electronic medical records
- Ability to use various counseling models and approaches
