The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, and post-MI patients, as well as those requiring cardiac pharmacological interventions. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The role requires experience in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing them, along with providing comprehensive care in a fast-paced environment.
Location:Rochester, New York, United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit.
- Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias.
- Manage dysrhythmias and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams.
- Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy (Peripheral Line Care/Management).
- Provide respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks.
- Implement isolation precautions.
- Document patient care in EPIC.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Conduct patient assessments and administer medications.
- Respond to patient emergencies and provide necessary interventions.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- EPIC charting experience.
- Clinical Assessment, Medication Administration, and Treatment Planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in the care of patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDS, post MI as well as cardiac pharmacological inventions.
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Special Considerations:
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility.
- Every other weekend required.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 hour day shifts.
- Shifts are determined and assigned by the department.
