JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active CA State License
• Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible (Certification required within 5 years of residency)
• DEA: Required; authorized to prescribe controlled substances
• Certifications: Flu vaccination; COVID vaccination or approved exemption
• Experience: Ability to treat developmental disability + mental health population
• Other Qualifications: Must enter hours in Vemsta platform; strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and MSEs, providing DSM-based diagnoses
• Provide ongoing medication management for assigned patients
• Use the clinic’s electronic health record system and follow Santa Clara County Psychiatric Medical Guidelines
• Collaborate with medical director, nurses, clinicians, and case managers for coordinated care
• Obtain and review diagnostic data, labs, and consultations relevant to patient treatment
• Prepare detailed written reports, documentation, diagnoses, and summaries as required
• Contribute to individualized treatment planning with clinical staff
• Provide psychiatric services in outpatient clinics via telehealth and in person
• Offer consultation and peer guidance to psychiatrists and therapists as needed
• Consult with clinic leadership regarding policies and treatment-related issues
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and performance improvement activities
• Advise families and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment, and intersection with developmental disabilities
• Prepare legal and court-related documents as necessary
