Portfolio Counselor

Overview

Our client is seeking a passionate financial professional with a background in Investments to join their team in their Portland, OR; Dallas, TX; or Tampa, FL office. We are searching for a self-starter with proven success in a financial sales role to communicate effectively and connect with clients to deliver elite service and exceed expectations. The ideal candidate will have the drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment and is willing and able to contribute to an elite team working with high-net-worth clients within the firm. Most importantly, you will educate assigned clients on our client’s investment philosophy to provide a fundamental understanding of the firm’s investment strategy and ensure client retention.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the short-term point of contact for our client’s high net worth clientele
  • Create an honest authentic relationship with each client to earn your compensation on high rates of conversion
  • Welcome and onboard new high-net-worth clients, ensure that their accounts are funded, and help align the client’s goals and objectives with the firm’s portfolio and investment strategy
  • Deliver high touch white glove service alongside a team backed by the Investment Policy Committee (IPC) to exceed expectations and provide unparalleled service, while receiving ongoing sales coaching
  • Build an honest, transparent, and authentic relationship with the high-net-worth clients, relating with them to focus on high rates of client conversion
  • Articulate the firm’s financial philosophy to the high-net-worth clients to build rapport and establish a lasting and trusting relationship
  • Assist in bringing in new assets through client referrals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or relevant field
  • A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in asset management, financial services, and client relationship management, with a range of 3 to 8 years of experience
  • Series 65, Series 66, or equivalent license is required
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Solid financial sales experience
    • Investment products strategy establishment
    • Strong capital market knowledge to educate and inform clients
  • Manage complexity in a high volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills with high net worth clients

Benefits

  • $65,000-$125,000 base salary per year in the state of WA—new hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range, depending on experience
  • Eligible for discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
