Job Description

HR Specialist Location McKinney, TX : Under the direction of the Human Resource Director and HR Manager, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment; Serves as a Center Recruiter and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
  • Post job openings on relevant job boards, social media, and internal platforms.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial phone interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring teams.
  • Assist in the selection process and manage communication with candidates throughout.
  • Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (Paycom)
  • Coordinate pre-employment background checks and reference verifications.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation sessions, introducing company culture, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage onboarding schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure completion of required paperwork.
  • Coordinate with IT and other departments to prepare workstations and tools for new hires.
  • Act as a point of contact for new hires during their initial transition.
  • This position will be trained in the following areas: CPR; (4) ASK.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma (or GED); Prefer some college education.
    • 2 + year of experience in a recruitment and onboarding or similar HR role.
    • Familiarity with HR software (HRIS systems)
    • Knowledge of training procedures and techniques
    • Knowledge of Community Centers and how they work.
    • Skill in oral and written communication in instructing others
    • Skill in the use of computer and applicable software
    • Skill of continually adapting trainings based on a variety of learning methodologies.
    • Ability to teach, organize, and effectively implement training materials.
    • Ability to present trainings to a small or large group of new and current workforce members.
    • Ability to work independently, organize work efficiently, and to prioritize workload demands.
    • Demonstrate skill in continually adapting trainings based on a variety of learning methodologies.
    • Flexibility to work across multiple programs to provide training and support as needed.
