Role Overview
As HR Manager, you will be the first full-time HR leader in the United States, responsible for end-to-end people operations—from recruiting and onboarding
to performance management, compliance, and culture-building. You will create scalable processes that enable aggressive head-count growth while ensuring exceptional employee experience and full adherence to federal, state (CA), and local regulations. Key Responsibilities.
【Talent Acquisition】
- Partner with hiring managers to forecast head-count needs and craft compelling s. • Manage full-cycle recruiting: sourcing, interviewing, offer negotiation, and pre-boarding.
- Build relationships with tech schools, maker communities, and industry events to deepen candidate pipelines.
【Onboarding & Training】
- Design and deliver a structured 30-60-90 onboarding framework.
- Coordinate technical and compliance training; track completion in the HRIS/LMS.
- Launch manager enablement sessions for interviewing, feedback, and
coaching skills.
【Performance & Culture】
- Implement goal-setting (OKRs), annual/bi-annual reviews, and continuous feedback loops.
- Champion core values and DEI initiatives; plan engagement surveys and action items.
- Mediate employee-relations issues with empathy and legal rigor.
【Total Rewards & HR Operations】
- Administer benefits, 401(k), and equity programs; drive open enrollment and vendor negotiations.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity, HR metrics dashboards, and compliance
reporting (ACA, EEO-1, OSHA). • Benchmark compensation and craft salary structures that balance
competitiveness and budget.
【Compliance & Risk】
- Ensure adherence to CA labor laws (wage-hour, leaves, terminations) and federal regulations (FLSA, FMLA).
- Own policy creation and updates—handbook, code of conduct, safety protocols.
- Manage immigration matters (H-1B, OPT, L-1) alongside counsel.
【Scaling & Process Improvement】
- Identify and automate manual HR workflows; evaluate and implement best-fit HR tech.
- Provide data-driven insights to leadership on turnover, engagement, and productivity.
- Build playbooks for future expansion to additional US sites and field teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a stand-alone or lead role.
- Demonstrated expertise in CA employment law and multi-state HR practices.
- Proven success implementing HRIS/ATS platforms and scaling from ~50 to 200+ employees.
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable with HR metrics, compensation analysis, and budget planning.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
