Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out openings and closings for burials, entombments, inurnments, and disinterments
- Install and assemble foundations, memorials, markers, and outer burial containers
- Respond to and fulfill work orders from client families, including grave/marker maintenance
- Conduct Interment Verification Procedures and prepare a 25-foot radius around burial sites, including filling, tamping, seeding, or sodding to maintain cleanliness
- Adhere to company safety protocols and Universal Precautions
- Maintain company equipment and facilities via preventive maintenance, ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
- Complete mandatory training, such as through Dignity University, and uphold the Dignity Memorial Promise standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Skills:
- Experience: At least six months of experience operating standard equipment
- Licenses: Acceptable driving record and any necessary equipment/vehicle operating licenses
- Proficiency with hand-held tools (e.g., shovels, picks, rakes, sledgehammers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, pumps)
- Capability to use mechanical equipment (e.g., dump trucks, tractors, utility vehicles, marker trailers, dump trailers, jackhammers, tampers, backhoes)
- Accuracy with measuring devices like tape measures or yardsticks
- Effective communication skills for interacting with coworkers, contractors, and client families; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Capacity to work in adverse weather conditions, awareness of safety and security implications, and general mechanical aptitude
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
