Careerscape is hiring for a Des Moines agricultural supplier that needs a Sales Representative to work with farmers and agribusinesses. You'll sell equipment, seed, crop protection products, and other farm inputs throughout central Iowa.
Our client is an established agricultural business with quality products and loyal customers. They offer base salary plus commission, company vehicle, and opportunities for high earnings.
Build relationships with farmers while earning strong income in agriculture.
Responsibilities
- Call on farmers and agricultural businesses in assigned territory
- Sell farm equipment, seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products
- Provide agronomic advice and product recommendations
- Build long term relationships with farm customers
- Demonstrate products and explain features and benefits
- Prepare quotes and process orders
- Track customer accounts and follow up on leads
- Attend agricultural trade shows and events
- Meet sales targets and grow territory revenue
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, or related field preferred
- 2-4 years of agricultural sales experience
- Strong knowledge of farming practices and products
- Existing relationships with farmers in Iowa helpful
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Self motivated and goal oriented
- Comfortable working independently in territory
- Valid driver license with clean record
- Agricultural background or farm experience valued
